Februar 9th, 2012 
Es war wirklich eiskalt die letzten zwei Wochen. Und ich bin nunmal nicht für Kälte gemacht. Drum stand hier vorübergehend so ziemlich alles still, sozusagen eingefroren. Aber heute ist es schon wieder wärmer, was man auch daran sieht, daß es fröhlich vor sich hin schneit, und ich habe langsam wieder Spaß am Fotografieren. Im Laufe des Tages kommen dann noch die gesammelten Daily Snaps seit Freitag, und ab morgen sollte es dann normal weitergehen.
It has been ice age cold these last two weeks, and I’m definitely not made for cold. Hence the lack of blogging. I was kind of frozen. But finally, as of today, temperatures are back on the rise, made pretty obvious by the fact that it’s snowing, and my photography mood is coming back as well. I’ll post the Daily Snaps I missed since Friday during the course of the day, and hope to get back to regular blogging from tomorrow on.
Februar 1st, 2012 Der Wetterbericht meldete “sibirische Kälte”. Und ich lachte und sagte “Ach komm, wie kalt kann es schon werden?” Tja …
Weather forecast predicted “siberian cold”. And I laughed and said “Oh come on, how cold can it get?” Well …
November 15th, 2011 Vor gut einer Woche stieß ich auf diesen Artikel und heute dachte ich mir, mach’s doch mal. Habe mir ein Kapitel meines Kamerahandbuches gründlich durchgelesen und dann einfach mal mit den Einstellungen gespielt. Hier das Ergebnis:
About a week ago I came across this article and today felt like trying it. Chose one chapter of my camera’s manual, read it thoroughly and then played around with the settings. This is the result:
Schärfe / Kontrast runter, Sättigung rauf, Meßfeld neu selektiert. Ich muß mir dafür unbedingt demnächst noch mehr Zeit nehmen.
Focus / contrast low, saturation up, manually selected focus point. I really need to make time for more of this.

Aufgenommen im Juni 2010 – da blühten die Schönheiten an so ziemlich jedem Straßenrand. Dieses Jahr habe ich sie sehr vermißt.
Taken back in June 2010 when they were practically everywhere. I really missed them this year.
Oktober 19th, 2011 
Der Winter ist im Anmarsch, wer weiß, wieviele sonnige Tage wir noch haben in diesem Jahr. Aber immer noch hängen ein paar Äpfel am Baum. Diese Ecke des Gartens ist noch naturnah (gut, man könnte auch sagen “verwildert”) und immer wieder mein Lieblingsplätzchen. Nächstes Jahr soll der alte Schuppen weg – Grund genug, ihn in all seinem wunderbaren Verfall nochmal ausgiebig zu fotografieren.
Winter is approaching fast, who knows how many sunny days we get to enjoy this year. But still there are appels on the tree. This corner of the garden is very naturally grown (guess you might just as well call it a wilderness) and I find again and again that it’s my favourite spot. There has been talk of tearing down the old barn next year – a perfect excuse to snap some more photos of it in all its beautiful decay.
