Ich weiß, ich weiß … ich hatte mir fest vorgenommen, erstmal die Hexagon Blanket fertigzuhäkeln. Aber gestern hat die Granny Square Blankie so gebettelt, daß ich sie doch bitte bitte in die Hand nehmen soll, da konnte ich nicht anders. Ich hatte schon fast vergessen, wie warm und kuschelig sie ist.

Yeah, I know … I said I would finish Hexagon Blanket first of all. Then yesterday, Granny Square Blankie begged me so long and hard to pick her up that I couldn’t resist. I had almost forgotten how warm and cosy she is.

Ich liebe, liebe, liebe die Farben! Eine der Farbkombinationen sind schon ein wenig schräg, aber das stört nicht weiter.

I love love love the colours! Some of the colour combinations do take some getting used to but who cares.

Ich würde sagen, ungefähr zur Hälfte ist sie fertig.

Hmmm … vielleicht sollte ich doch diese Decke zuerst fertigstellen?

Well … maybe I should finish this blanket first?

Letzte Woche, als ich so meinen Stash mitsamt aller UFOs sortierte, wurde mir klar, woher die immer weiter um sich greifende Unlust kommt: ich hatte einfach zuviel angefangen. Gleich zwei angefangene Hexagon Blankets habe ich aus einem Karton gezogen, zusammen mit Wolle, von der ich gar nicht mehr wußte, daß ich sie besitze. Eine andere (und wirklich sehr hübsche) Decke schlummert dafür in einer Ecke vor sich hin, weil mir die Wolle für sie ausgegangen ist. Und die Sockenwollereste hatten sich über drei Zimmer verteilt.

Last week while I was sorting through my stash including all my UFOs, I finally realized why my mojo had left me: I had simply started far too many projects at a time. I found two unfinished Hexagon Blankets in a cardboard box, along with a variety of yarn I had completely forgotten. Another (really pretty) blanket is hibernating in a corner because I ran out of yarn. The sock yarn leftovers, on the other hand, had spread over three rooms.

Ich habe Ordnung reingebracht, geribbelt und verpackt und schließlich beschlossen, alles zurück auf Anfang. Zuerst die Hexagon Blanket, denn die habe ich als erstes angefangen. Weil die beiden angefangenen mir aber aus diversen Gründen nicht mehr gefielen, habe ich eine neue angefangen, und die wird jetzt als erstes fertiggestellt. Und vorher wird nix angefangen! Also allenfalls mal ein Paar Socken so für zwischendurch.

I sorted everything, frogged, neatly packed yarn and finally decided to reset, as in going back to where my startitis started. Hexagon Blanket was the first I cast on and thus will be the first to be finished. As I don’t like the two unfinished ones for various reasons, I cast on a new one, and I hereby solemnly swear not to cast on anything new until the blanket is done! Well, maybe a pair of socks just to keep it company.

Die dritte Reihe habe ich fertig. Von ungefähr 20. Sollte zu schaffen sein, bis es wieder kalt wird.

Three rows are finished. Of an estimated 20. Should be doable before the cold season.

Motiv Nr. 57 aus dem Buch “Beyond the Square Crochet Motifs” von Edie Eckman. Vorerst werden sie mal nur gesammelt, später wird vielleicht noch eine Decke draus.

Nur noch Fäden vernähen, Umrandung häkeln, alles zusammenhäkeln und hinten Knöpfe anbringen. Kann ja nicht mehr sooooo lange dauern. ;-) Maria, wie gefällt Dir die Farbkombi?

I only have to weave in the lose ends, crochet a border, crochet the pieces together and sew on buttons. Can’t really take that long, can it? ;-) Maria, what do you think about the colour combination?

Ich konnte es nicht lassen und mußte gleich noch eine Decke anfangen. Es ist die Scrappy Stripes Afghan (Ravelry-Link) und sie ist ebenso simpel wie wirkungsvoll.
