Airs and Laces

So here’s my first project for 2019:

I’m back to lace knitting, hurray! This is going to be a rather light-weight and small stole, following the Seascape Stole pattern by Kieran Fowley (note that there are two versions of the pattern, I’m following the longer written pattern because I love the lace ribbing and the way it merges into the actual wave pattern). I’ve completed section A so far. Coming next will be x repeats of the wave pattern.

I’ve named this my „Surf & Turf Stole“, you’ll understand why when you see the yarn:

It’s „Filigran“ by Atelier Zitron, a lovely merino lace yarn, and the colours are so yummy! There’s some light sky blue, ocean blue, a bit of misty grey, earthy browns, and some sunrise pink. All in all, I kept thinking of a rainy day by the sea when I wound the skein into a ball. Hence the project name. I can’t wait to see how it progresses.

This is also my first new Ravelry project. I finally got rid of my Flickr account after receiving an email that Flickr was going to limit the amount of photos non-paying users would be able to upload. It made me wonder how long it would take them to change their entire system to paid membership only, and since I already pay for the webspace I’m hosting my blog on, I just wasn’t prepared to pay extra just for the sake of having a Flickr account. So I deleted it and all my photos with it. I only used Flickr for my Rav projects photos anyway, and the majority of the projects were old and the actual pieces I made don’t even exist anymore, so I thought this was a great opportunity to start anew.
